Vineyard:
The eleven and one half acre merlot vineyard is on Limerick Lane in the
Russian River Valley appellation bordering on the Chalk Hill region.
The climate is a high region one/low region two, with moderating effects
from the Pacific Ocean. The soil is shallow, rocky clay loam with cemented
aggregate sub soils, allowing for excellent drainage and root penetration.
Due to this environment the vines are not excessively vigorous
and produce very concentrated fruit.
This vineyard was sold in 2000,
but Keith continued to custom-crush the grapes from this vineyard
through 2006.
