THE WINE

 This wine truly lives up to the name, claret. It is a medium bodied, lower alcohol wine with very complex elements in its aroma and taste. It is a true Bordeaux style wine.

 

WINE MAKING NOTES

 The aromas are rich in dark fruit and cedar. The mouth feel and taste are balanced between forward fruit flavors and elements from the barrels---toast and rich textures. This wine should age extremely well, 8-15 years. 


 
 
Varietal Composition:

30% Petit Verdot from the Stemach Ranch in Sonoma Valley

35% Cabernet Sauvignon from Chalk Hill

35% Cabernet Franc from Chalk Hill

Technical Data: pH: 3.55, TA .60mg/100ml.
 Alcohol by Volume: 14.2
 Barrels: 50% new French oak and 50% 1-2 year old French oak.
