THE WINE

We have been making Bordeaux varietals with a single varietal approach , such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc for quite a few years. Through experimentation in blending of the Bordeaux varietals we found some of the blends to be very impressive in structure and balance. This resulted in a wine that the whole was better that the parts. This is how the 2004 claret came to be. We are now in vintage 2006.

WINE MAKING NOTES

This claret is dark ruby in color. The aromas are cedar, vanilla, and black berries and the warmth of toasty oak. The wine in its taste is full bodied and round with up front, sweet fruit flavors and finishes with darker black fruit notes. In the finish there is a persistent flavor of sweet fruit and cedar.
