2012 Chardonnay: Our 2012 Russian River Chardonnay, Carmine's Vineyard, is a wine produced from grapes expertly farmed. This wine was gently handled through whole cluster pressing. This method insures that the wine remains true to its nature in flavor and allows the wine to develop with extended bottle aging.

 The wine is light straw in color with aromas of tropical fruit such as pineapple. The flavors reflect the tropical aromas with a pear flavor in the middle body richness and a clean, long finish. It is a medium bodied wine that is 100% barrel fermented in French oak.

  Our 2012 chardonnay received 8 months of barrel aging while resting on its lees with a weekly stirring for its life in the barrel. It went through 75% malolactic fermentation but this did not overwhelm the wine with over the top butteriness.

 

  The 2012 chardonnay is drinkable now and will continue to be at its best for at least 5 years. 85 cases produced.
